Categories: Electorate
Hinchinbrook MP, Andrew Cripps, recently awarded Mr Laurie Firth, of Ingham, a certificate and badge in recognition of 50 years of voluntary service to Queensland as a Justice of the Peace (JP).
Mr Cripps presented Mr Firth with his certificate and badge after a long career with the Queensland Justice Department working in the court system, which was the primary reason he became a JP.
“I’d like to thank Laurie for his very long period of service to the Queensland public as a JP, which is a voluntary position that can require individuals to take on a lot of responsibility” said Mr Cripps.
“I was pleased to be able to present a certificate and badge to Laurie in person to ensure he understood his local community appreciates the voluntary service that he has provided” he said.
Mr Cripps anyone interested in becoming a Justice of the Peace, or Commissioner for Declarations should contact the Justice Department on 1300 301 147, or email jp@justice.qld.gov.au.
