North Queensland banana farms will be protected from the blight of banana freckle disease thanks to a $4.1m investment by the State Government.

About two-thirds of Australia’s bananas are grown in the Hinchinbrook electorate and the industry is a cornerstone of the region’s economy.

It’s important we help in the eradication program so we can protect our local banana industry and the livelihoods of our north Queensland growers.
