Member for Hinchinbrook, Andrew Cripps, has welcomed the announcement of a new initiative being established by the Hinchinbrook Community Support Centre.
Following a successful application for funding through the Support for Young Children Affected by Domestic and Family Violence project, The Hinchinbrook Community Support Centre has been successful in receiving funding of $42,863.
Mr Cripps said “This funding will enhance the support offered to vulnerable children aged from birth to eight years who are affected by domestic and family violence, and will also provide much needed assistance for vulnerable families”.
“The Hinchinbrook Community Support Centre provides emergency accommodation for victims of domestic violence and they do a wonderful job of supporting people at these very difficult times. The Hinchinbrook Shire is very fortunate to have a dedicated and experienced group of people providing this service”, Mr Cripps said.
